Wesley Tunison is an accomplished actor who is driven by an incredible passion for self-expression. His roles are often noted for their unique blend of spunk, charm, and ease. Wesley is an actor who believes in having good vibes and a wonderful creative work environment which enables him and his fellow actors to create characters that are unforgettable.
Wesley has appeared Off-Broadway, in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, the New York City Fringe Festival, and summer stock at The Mac-Haydn Theatre. He has worked side by side with some of Broadway’s greatest actors. He has been in feature films such as Taking Woodstock and has also appeared in more than half a dozen independent films, most notably Stephanie Daley. Recently, Wesley went to The Cannes Film Festival with the film 8:46 which was also seen at the Tribeca cinemas.
Born and raised in Freehold, New York, by two loving artists Alice and Ron Tunison; Wesley was brought up from day one to appreciate and care for the arts. He spent his early years getting himself involved in anything he could sign up for. He found himself often being told that he was stretching himself too thin because he didn’t want to miss a thing. He always pushed himself to the limits to have all of the life experience that he could get.
Growing up he put on original shows for family and friends. These shows would be created by his siblings; Elizabeth and Trevor as well as himself. Wesley spent his summers skateboarding and exploring the wilderness. He grew up working outdoors at SunnyHill Golf Course and Resort. During the winters he would take a short trip to the nearby mountains to go snowboarding. He vividly remembers being dragged to every audition by his mom who was actually taking his sister and since he was there he figured why not audition as well. He was fascinated by acting ever since he was in a High School production of Hello Dolly when he was four years old.
Wesley attended Columbia-Greene College where he studied Humanities and graduated in 2009. After being cast in a summer season at Mac-Haydn theatre he moved to NYC to spend 15 hour days at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy where he trained in acting for Film and Stage as well as dance. After his studies at AMDA he furthered his studies by attending the Advanced Shakespeare Conservatory at The Pearl. Nothing really has ever slowed down Wesley and many wonder how one person can accomplish so much in such short periods of time.
Most recently, Wesley has taken up studying acting privately with Gene Lasko. He currently studies improv with Michael Hauschild and is broadening his horizons with improv training at The People’s Improv Theatre and The Upright Citizen’s Brigade.
